  • Tickets are now on sale for our January concert

Time to plan some nice things to do in the New Year!

You can now buy your tickets for our next concert on 22nd January 2022 at 7.30pm via the link at the bottom of this page. We are thrilled to be playing Beethoven's instantly recognisable 5th Symphony, and a much lesser known piece, but a real gem none the less, Ethel Smyth's Serenade in D.  You can read a little about the pieces on our Concerts page, and even listen to some recordings of the pieces.

The venue is the Letchworth Free Church, Norton Way South, Letchworth SG6 1US

Tickets are £12 a head for adults, £6 for under 18's, and we are asking people to book and pay online.
This will allow us to seat people in groups, and allow spacing between them.  We will be asking the audience to wear masks if at all possible. You won't be alone - the string players will be wearing them too, to keep the orchestra and audience as safe as we can. The church will be ventilated, and is a lovely large space, with a very high ceiling.  We are sorry but we won't be serving refreshments during the interval, but please bring your own if you would like them.

If you have any queries, please email info@letchworth-sinfonia.org.uk

We look forward to seeing you!
  • Postponement of our Come and Play Day

  •  Date Posted: Sun, 8 Aug 2021

Given the current levels of COVID-19 we have taken the difficult decision to postpone our Come and Play Day on 5th September.  Although it is now permissible in terms of numbers, we feel it would not be appropriate to bring lots of new people together for the whole day.

We will let you know a new date as soon as we can, based on the COVID-19 situation, so that we can welcome players from far and wide to join in and work on Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony.

A new look for Letchworth Sinfonia
Whilst we haven't been able to play together, the Committee has taken the opportunity to review our communications and branding, working with Letchworth designer Katerina Meccano on a new logo for the orchestra.

Rooted in our local community, we were keen to reflect our connection to Letchworth Garden City, and have a fresh, welcoming and distinctive look. With a nod to sound waves, art deco and spring like colours, we hope you like it as much as we do.

We have also been busy building this new website, which once concerts are up and running will allow us to sell tickets online, and provide players access to a members' section, helping to run the administration of the orchestra more effectively.

All we need now is to be able to start playing together once again!  Keep your fingers crossed......
